This could be you & your guests...

One of our greatest honors as a wedding photographers is getting to be in the moments that are often private to most of the world. Be it Elise putting on some finishing touches on makeup, laughing with your friends & aunt who surround you as you get ready, or Daniel putting on his suit jacket, we love capturing these moments to be treasured for years to come.

As you & your closest friends get ready at b&b, many precious moments are shared. Champagne toasts & uncontrollable laughter, each of which will be captured by our ready eyes. Countless moments of excitement & easygoingness will be captured for you to relive all over again in your wedding gallery.

The ceremony is such a beautiful time of showcasing your commitment in front of those closest to you. For me & my associates, we do not just capture the walks down the aisle & your first kiss, but also the way Daniel smiles as Elise gives their vows, & the way Aunt Jenny tears up as you two say yes to forever with each other.

If you move forward with us, we will approach every moment with an intentional & artistic heart, & capture moments of your family members & friends bearing witness to the commitment you are making to each other. You are choosing to invite who you do for a purpose, so we will also capture their reactions throughout your whole ceremony.

My associates will give you two prompts that help you feel comfortable in front of the camera, as well as play off your natural energy together to capture moments that are authentically you. They will take non-traditional couples photos that will hang on your apartment walls, as well as candid photos of joy that you will want to make your phone lock screen.

Couples photos don't stop though just because you are making your way to the ceremony (or however your timeline ends up running), because we are always on the lookout for a stolen kiss between the both of you, or a glance you two hold as you catch eyes from across the reception space.

With all your favorite people surrounding you, it will be the perfect time to seamlessly flow into group photos with friends & family. Group photos are such a joy. We do not want this to be a mundane part of your celebration, but, instead, right after the ceremony, let's capture hugs & laughter that will undoubtedly come after you two say "I do". Then we will move into taking group photos of different variations of family members & get these done in an efficient manner so we can continue on with the rest of your day.

I think I remember you saying when you've been in weddings, it always feels so forced during wedding party photos. Right before the ceremony images in the carousel I included photos of a recent couple of ours who took 0 posed photos with their friends. Instead, they had their functional wedding party chill with them in a room at the venue, with their music pumping, & the candid moments that followed were their "wedding party" photos. You do not have to go this candid, but I wanted you to see it's an option!

Mingling photos are the bread & butter of our work. When I cull through the thousands of photos my associates take during a wedding day, some of my biggest smiles come from seeing those in between moments we captured. Whether it is a hug, laughter, a cheers between two people, or anything else that unfolds, I am here for every moment that would have gone unnoticed if it were not for our cameras.

From every moment, planned or unplanned, they will be there to capture a documentarian like, perspective, so that when you two look through your finished gallery it truly feels like you are reliving the day all over again.

Also, you better believe they will be on the lookout to ensure your glass stays full. Whenever my associate sees it running low, she'll be walking right over to the bartender to grab an dirty martini for Elise & an old fashioned for Daniel ;))

What better way to celebrate than in the company of those closest to you over a good meal?! Food is at the center of so much community, & beautiful moments of laughter occur when sharing in a good meal. Whether it is just that, laughter, or spontaneous toasts that are given, we will be right there capturing all the candid memories that take place.

What is a wedding if not the party of a lifetime?! Truly, the idea of an after party onboard a boat is the most iconic & unique thing we've ever heard, so their excitement level will have them capturing every moment that passes. From your friend from college who is dougie-ing like nobody's business, to your sibling who is busting out their best moves, as your photographer, my associates will have their most comfortable shoes on, so they can stay on their feet all evening & not miss a single moment.

Remembering Daniel's mother:

Kimberly's step father passed three months before her elopement celebration.

When I arrived to Kimberly & Justin's apartment to take getting ready photos for them, I asked if there was anything special they wanted to include with their ring detail photos. Kimberly immediately went into their bedroom & brought these images of her father back into the living room for me to include in the detail images.

John's mother passed a few years before he & Carly tied the knot in downtown Brooklyn.

John put together a slideshow in her honor that played during the time for toasts. As the slideshow played, John's father, sister, Carly, & John stood together in a corner of the room, watching reminders of the love they have for their mom run across the screen.

In any & every way you decide to honor your mother,

my associates will take special attention to capture it in the most honoring way possible. Through the colors & shine of your decor, to other creative ways you incorporate her heart into the day you are planning, we commit ourselves to working with you to be as sensitive & celebratory as we can be, knowing your mom is there with you cheering on the love you two share.

Below are some film photos from previous weddings & elopements.

Investment Proposal for Digital & Film: $7,000 for 8 hours on October 5, 2024.

The Carissa Joy Photo treatment is one that takes a real look at who you are as a couple, & documents your wedding day authentically to who you are. I hope you feel that already by the fact that I have mostly included imagery that could translate to a nontraditional wedding day, at a venue with cozy architecture/decor. I also tried to include some moments from other weddings where there's been a campfire or lawn games!

My team & I believe we are best suited for you, because of the way we specialize in the in between moments, both big & small. We hope to work with you to align on a vision that feels 100% authentic to who you two are as a couple, & then bring that vision to life for you on both digital & film.

Film has a special character to its images. It is not just a trend making its way through the current wedding zeitgeist, it is a timeless practice of capturing love in an authentic way. I genuinely think that film photography is the most romantic way to capture a wedding, as the character of the images give off warm vibes & are inherently both nostalgic & timeless. The practice of film photography truly brings such intentionality to the moment, that can be felt & experienced when you receive the photos.

This proposal includes four rolls of film (136-144 images), an additional photographer who specializes in film to be there to capture it all, & the editing of each image. We deliver each film photo taken, even if it is slightly out of focus or blurred, because that is the magic of film photography - "mistakes" are made beautiful.

Investment Proposal for Digital: $6,000 for 8 hours on October 5, 2024.

If the investment for film photography is not as important for you two, then just going with digital photography is an incredible option! We will still provide you with the same amount of service & attention to detail that will make your wedding day authentically you.

*regardless of which package you choose, I guarantee at least 80+ digital images per hour (640+ digital images for 8 hours of services guaranteed per your contract - this is in writing to protect you so that you are contractually obliged a minimum) that will be fully edited in your wedding gallery.

Investment Proposal for Rehearsal Dinner: $1,500 for 2 hours on October 4, 2024.

In order for our associates to mark two dates off on their calendar when they could be getting other potential clients, it does need to come at a minimum, so I am sorry we cannot do this lower! I totally understand if it is not possible since it pushes you over your budget, or if it is something you want to decide later on. It will always be here as an option if you two decide it's important to you!

Additional Costs that would be agreed upon in the contract: $750/hour for additional hours of services & $150/roll of film for any additional rolls of film.

If at any point in the planning process you two decide you want more hours of coverage or additional rolls of film, I will have this agreement written in our contract giving you two the space to scale up the services at any point! For the film, we can shoot as we feel the moment is calling us to, then invoice you two only for the rolls we finish during your wedding weekend/day!

What would travel costs look like?

Because the venue is outside of the five boroughs, we will need to rent a car. We will get our rental approved by you two before making any decisions. Then we will invoice you two after the wedding day for the cost of the rental car & gas money.

If you decide to go with weekend coverage, we will also need a hotel room for both Friday & Saturday. We can book this on our own & invoice you for the cost after getting it approved, or you two can get us a room in your own block/however works best for you.

Whether you have more questions or you are ready to book one of the options, let me know!

I am here to address any area you might be confused on or bring more clarity to each proposal. BUT if you are ready to full send it on either of these proposals, PLEASE do not hesitate to text me, because you already know I will be doing a happy dance as I write up your contract & send it your way.

Once you are ready to book you will...

1) Sign the contract I send over.

The contract is pretty simple & straight forward. It is designed to not just protect our business, but also you to, as all of Carissa Joy Photo's promises will be written down in this contract. From services performed, to editing, & editing schedules, we both will sign the contract to ensure we are on the same page + all of our needs are met. If you have any questions regarding any aspect of it, my team & I are happy to answer!

2) Put down a 30% deposit.

Details about the 30% deposit will be in the contract. Once I receive the retainer, I will mark the date of your wedding off on my calendar, so that if any other potential clients inquire with me for that day, I can confidently tell them, "So sorry, but I already have a stunning wedding with an amazing couple scheduled for that day!"

3) Jump up & down for joy with me.

Once the contract is signed & the deposit is paid, I am OFFICIALLY your photographer! What an honor that will be & I truly cannot wait to make this happen. I am confident in the beauty we will capture together, both the planned & the unplanned moments. So many priceless photos come from in between, candid moments, & I will be right by your side to photograph each one.

Once we have your wedding on the books,

I will be here with you every step of the planning process. I am here to help talk through the schedule, & how photos can work in to both get every moment you want captured, while also giving you two time to be present with your guests. I have a list of vendors I can recommend, be it florists for a good bouquet & boutonniere or a makeup artist to get you feeling good at the beginning of the day. Anything else that arises, no matter how small or big, consider me your wedding veteran to give you all the tips on ensuring your day is as fun & camp like as you envision it to be.
