This could be you & your guests...

1: FIRST LOOK + BRIDE & GROOM PHOTOS

I will photograph Dylan's emotions that come with seeing Olivia in her gown for the first time, & crystalizing the memories of Olivia overwhelming love for Dylan as she sees him in his tux/suit. Then, we can enter right into bride & groom photos, capturing perfect light before your ceremony begins!

I will give you two prompts that help you feel comfortable in front of the camera, as well as play off your natural energy together to capture moments that are authentically you. We will take non-traditional bride & groom photos that will hang on your apartment walls, as well as candid photos of joy that you will want to make your phone lock screen. I started out in the fashion photography world which means I was pruned to take a lot of photos in a very short amount of time, so after a brief time away form your guests to take these photos, I will get you back & present with your people.

Bride & groom photos don't stop though just because you made your way back to dinner (which we will prioritize presence with your guests!), because I will always be on the lookout for a stolen kiss between the both of you, or a glance you two hold as you catch eyes from across the reception space.

2: ketubah signing & group photos

I love how you two want people to feel intentionally chosen for the roles they serve on your wedding day. For the Ketubah signing, I will approach the beautiful experience with the same intentionality. Capturing the rabbi as they give the teaching, capture each signer as they take on that honorable position, & capture people's reactions & cheersing after the Ketubah has been signed.

With all your favorite people surrounding you, it will be the perfect time to seamlessly flow into group photos with friends & family. Family photos are such a joy. I do not want this to be a mundane part of your celebration, but, instead, right after the ceremony, let's capture hugs & laughter that will undoubtedly come after you two sign your Ketubah. Then we will move into taking group photos of different variations of family members & get these done in an efficient manner so we can continue on with the rest of your day.

Then, with any friends that either acted as your witnesses or joined you for getting ready that you would want some photos with, we can capture those quickly, while then giving you time to authentically interact with each other making for the best in the moment photos.

3: CEREMONY

The ceremony is such a beautiful time of showcasing your commitment in front of those closest to you. For me & my associates, we will not just capture the walks down the aisle & the breaking of the glass, but also the way Dylan smiles as Olivia gives her vows, & the way Olivia's sister tears up as you two say yes to forever with each other.

If you move forward with us, we will approach every moment with an intentional & artistic heart, & capture moments of each of your family members & friends bearing witness to the commitment you are making to each other. You are choosing to invite the people you did for a purpose, so we will also capture their reactions throughout your whole ceremony, be it a tear or a belly laugh.

4: COCKTAIL HOUR + MINGLING

Mingling photos are the bread & butter of our work. When I cull through the thousands of photos my associates & I take during a wedding day, some of my biggest smiles come from seeing those in between moments we captured. Whether it is a hug, laughter, a cheers between two people, or anything else that unfolds, I am here for every moment that would have gone unnoticed if it were not for our cameras.

From every moment, planned or unplanned, we will be there to capture a documentarian like, perspective, so that when you two look through your finished gallery it truly feels like you are reliving the day all over again.

Also, you better believe I will be on the lookout to ensure your glass stays full. Whenever I see it running low, I'll be walking right over to the bartender to grab Dylan a rye old fashioned & Olivia a Negroni (with an olive, not a twist ;))!

5: dinner + toasts (if you have them)

What better way to celebrate than in the company of those closest to you over a good meal?! Food is at the center of so much community, & beautiful moments of laughter occur when sharing in a good meal. Whether it is just that, laughter, or spontaneous toasts that are given, we will be right there capturing all the candid memories that take place.

Whether siblings, parents, or close friends give a toast, we will have our head on a swivel to capture the speaker, your candid reactions from laughter to a kiss, & the reactions of your guests enjoying hearing all the nostalgic stories of you both.

6: PARTY TIME

What is a wedding if not the party of a lifetime?! After those slow dances are had, & your toasts are made, we will be getting on that dance floor with you all to celebrate the life you two are starting together. From all the fun during the hora, to your friend from college who is dougie-ing like nobody's business, to your sibling who is busting out their best moves, as your photographer, I will have my most comfortable shoes on, so I can stay on my feet all evening & not miss a single moment.

Below are some film photos from previous weddings & elopements.

Investment Proposal for Digital & Film: $6,750 for 8 hours on October 20, 2024.

The Carissa Joy Photo treatment is one that takes a real look at who you are as a couple, & documents your wedding day authentically to who you are. I hope you feel that already by the fact that I have mostly included imagery that could translate to a beautiful estate wedding, all being images that feel intentional & warm, helping the moments feel present. Also, I have included special moments we captured of couples with their friends & family without them realizing we were even there taking a photo, like when Lauren's friends were helping her adjust her veil, or when Dominic's mom was whispering to him one last piece of advice before he walked down the aisle. Furthermore, I was sure to include photos not just of our couples having the best day of their lives, but their guests too, from laughter during the ceremony, to getting down on the dance floor, we will capture the moments you will not be privy to. What better way to make your guests feel "thought of" then by providing them with photos of themselves in their natural element after the wedding day? While I cannot guarantee I will get a photo of all 175 people, that is always the goal I set out for myself & it is my hope you two would then get to use those to bless all your guests who came out to support you!

My team & I believe we are best suited for you, because of the way we specialize in the in between moments, both big & small. We hope to work with you to align on a vision that feels 100% authentic to who you two are as a couple, & then bring that vision to life for you on both digital & film.

Film has a special character to its images. It is not just a trend making its way through the current wedding zeitgeist, it is a timeless practice of capturing love in an authentic way. I genuinely think that film photography is the most romantic way to capture a wedding, as the character of the images give off warm vibes & are inherently both nostalgic & timeless. The practice of film photography truly brings such intentionality to the moment, that can be felt & experienced when you receive the photos.

This proposal includes four rolls of film (136-144 images), an additional photographer who specializes in film to be there to capture it all, & the editing of each image. We deliver each film photo taken, even if it is slightly out of focus or blurred, because that is the magic of film photography - "mistakes" are made beautiful.

Investment Proposal for Digital: $5,750 for 8 hours on October 20, 2024.

If the investment for film photography is not as important for you two, then just going with digital photography is an incredible option! We will still provide you with the same amount of service & attention to detail that will make your wedding day authentically you.

*regardless of which package you choose, I guarantee at least 80+ digital images per hour (640+ digital images for 8 hours of services guaranteed per your contract - this is in writing to protect you so that you are contractually obliged a minimum) that will be fully edited in your wedding gallery.

Engagement Session: Included, anywhere in NYC.

While I usually offer discounts to my clients on engagement sessions, I really want to photograph your wedding day, so I want to make this proposal as irresistible as possible by including your engagement session in both of the proposals above!

I want to join you two on a date night out, & make a photo session out of it. Whether that means walking around the West Village or Brooklyn Heights (my go to session locations) or revisiting spots that are nostalgic for you two somewhere else in Brooklyn - I am here for whatever! The engagement session is such a wonderful time for the three of us to get to know each other before we spend 8 hours together in 2024 on one of the biggest days of your life! Then if you two want a roll of film also, I can invoice you $50 to cover the cost of the film & its development & get you two 34-36 film images for your engagement gallery!

Also, once you book with me, I will send you a full outfit guide PDF that will be helpful in picking out your outfits! Then, I will always be available to help you choose between options as well! I am here to help as much or as little as you want, I love having an avenue for my inner stylist to come out haha.

Additional Costs that would be agreed upon in the contract: $750/hour for additional hours of services & $150/roll of film for any additional rolls of film.

If at any point in the planning process you two decide you want more hours of coverage or additional rolls of film, I will have this agreement written in our contract giving you two the space to scale up the services at any point!

What would travel costs look like?

I am flexible! We can discuss in the months leading up to your wedding what makes the most sense based on the timeline. We are happy to take the Amtrak & Uber, or rent a car, then we will invoice those costs to you after the wedding day. Ultimately, no decisions will be made without getting your approval first!

Whether you have more questions or you are ready to book one of the options, let me know!

I am here to address any area you might be confused on or bring more clarity to each proposal. BUT if you are ready to full send it on either of these proposals, PLEASE do not hesitate to text me, because you already know I will be doing a happy dance as I write up your contract & send it your way.

Once you are ready to book you will...

1) Sign the contract I send over.

The contract is pretty simple & straight forward. It is designed to not just protect our business, but also you to, as all of Carissa Joy Photo's promises will be written down in this contract. From services performed, to editing, & editing schedules, we both will sign the contract to ensure we are on the same page + all of our needs are met. If you have any questions regarding any aspect of it, my team & I are happy to answer!

2) Put down a 30% deposit.

Details about the 30% deposit will be in the contract. Once I receive the retainer, I will mark the date of your wedding off on my calendar, so that if any other potential clients inquire with me for that day, I can confidently tell them, "So sorry, but I already have a stunning wedding with an amazing couple scheduled for that day!"

3) Jump up & down for joy with me.

Once the contract is signed & the deposit is paid, I am OFFICIALLY your photographer! What an honor that will be & I truly cannot wait to make this happen. I am confident in the beauty we will capture together, both the planned & the unplanned moments. So many priceless photos come from in between, candid moments, & I will be right by your side to photograph each one.

Once we have your wedding on the books,

I will be here with you every step of the planning process. I am here to help talk through the schedule, & how photos can work in to both get every moment you want captured, while also giving you two time to be present with your guests. I have a list of vendors I can recommend, be it florists for a good bouquet & boutonniere or a makeup artist to get you feeling good at the beginning of the day. Anything else that arises, no matter how small or big, consider me your wedding veteran to give you all the tips on ensuring your day is as intentional & grounded as you envision it to be.
