Xin Ying & Shawn flew from Singapore to New York City to start their month long trip adventuring all around the United States.
It was such a dream to photograph their engagement session on 35mm film & digital, all throughout the Metropolitan Museum of Art. As you scroll through this gallery, you will view the magic of their film images first.
No matter the location, film photography adds such romantic &
unique character to our clients' galleries. Film photography in the MET, though? It's a whole other level. From the Roman statues, to the dark hallways, to the European paintings, these photos are nothing but classy & timeless.
Now for the digital,
it was so lovely capturing not only editorial like imagery that could be featured in Vogue, but also candid moments of laughter as they came in & out of our promptings.
Low light means we need to bump our ISO on our camera higher,
which comes with an end result of grainier images. Usually, I am all about that natural, golden hour light, but in this hallway, I cannot help but fall in love with the darker, grainier vibe.
Every time I do a session at the MET I have two goals once we hit the painting galleries:
1) find a bench in an empty room for some magical, editorial images & 2) find your most favorite painting for a detail shot of your engagement ring!
While this was my third trip to the MET with clients,
I will never grow tired of the creativity this space spurs. I would love to create images like this + find ways to uniquely capture you & your love in these MET exhibits, or in another NYC museum. Inquire below if you are ready to get started!
